The Space At 9/2Your Silq is an eponymous label launched in 2019, aiming to utilize their craft to celebrate the non-confining individual — packing in elegance & comfort effortlessly. It launches small collections in the format of drops a few times each year, with an eclectic concept and visual identity for each of them.
The collection is a play on the spunk and freedom of the Seventies - a time of sweet rebellion and finding one’s space of free - spirit.
The 70s were a time of whimsy and being free-spirited. It was a time to be bold. We wanted to recreate the same vibe with the shoot.
We created the set of the shoot in The Space At Chowringhee. We selected muted backgrounds and recreated the retro vibe with the clothes, poses and lighting.
The lighting for the entire shoot was kept consistent and the playfulness of the 70s was brought through the movements that Tanisha and Manraj were doing.
The garments had to take centre stage which is why props and background were kept neutral. Keeping in mind #YourSilqYourWay — a belief that supports the versatility of garments by the brand, making them relevant across body types, occasions and style choices. Doing the photoshoot with Manraj and Tanisa as the muses was to follow through this idea.
The garments were also paired in an unusual way to support the idea of freedom and spunk of the 70s.
